Lincor is the largest global provider of patient engagement services and software

About Lincor

Lincor doesn’t just deliver best-of-breed in-room patient engagement and experience solutions, we were one of the first companies to develop technology specifically for this purpose. Since then, we’ve grown our services into a range of unique solutions that also help clinicians to deliver better care. Looking after patients and clinicians means what we do has a real impact on many of the metrics modern hospitals are judged by, making our services desirable and necessary.

Our global reach means we see the regional challenges healthcare providers are facing, and how significant international trends compound these. This means you can be sure that as the needs of your patients, medical staff, and hospital continue evolve, we will be there, ready to help you.

Our ongoing mission

Lincor was formed in 1996 from the passionate belief that improving patient experience would improve their outcomes, a passion which remains at the core of our business today. This, along with the desire to enable clinical teams to achieve what’s at the very heart of every hospital – to deliver the best possible level of care.

We knew that stressed and bored patients, with few visitors and regimental-style care, didn’t provide the optimal environment for healing. We could see that change was coming and envisaged that the right technology was able to improve the patient experience and so Lincor was born.

Lincor remains a dedicated patient experience specialist and does not have the distractions faced by vendors providing a broad range of hospital technology and infrastructure. It’s our mission to take this specialism and focus, and combined with our passion, help you to engage with your patients and deliver the best possible experience and outcomes that you can.

We know experience counts

While patient experience is what drives us, we’ve also learnt that hospitals also have a duty of care to overworked clinical teams, especially nurses. Our patient engagement systems also help hospital staff by removing some of their burden, enabling them to deliver a better level of care. Having Lincor in your hospital means staff have a better experience, too.

There’s a third place where experience can help, and that’s ours. We understand that you want us to know about your local needs, your regulations, and your market. And rest assured, we do. Our global reach also means that we see new trends and developments at an early stage. So, whether it’s new thinking, practices, data uses, or hospital services, you can be sure we’re ready to help you deliver on them when you need to.

Finally, our understanding of your challenges is what drives us to evolve not just our products and services, but also how we make them available to you. It’s why we believe our as-a-service model is the most cost effective and flexible offering on the market.

The benefits of Lincor’s patient engagement technology

  • It won’t be surprising to many healthcare professionals that supporting patient wellbeing can speed recovery. This can be tricky to do when you’re unwell in hospital, and keeping a positive mental attitude relies on several factors. These include social support from friends and family, mental stimulation, minimising stress, and the necessary education to help the patient take control of their own recovery and welfare. This last point is particularly important in reducing avoidable readmissions.

  • Studies show that readmissions costs, on average, are over £12k ($15k) per case. Avoidable readmissions aren’t that surprising either, with a BMJ study indicating that up to 40% of patients cannot state their own diagnosis and management plan after discharge. Readmissions don’t just have a financial impact on the hospital either, they also affect patient’s mental health (and outcomes), and block beds for new admissions

  • Improving patient outcomes also relies on hospitals not harming their patients. An uncomfortable estimate in the US suggests that 1.2m Americans4 are harmed annually by medical errors, and global statistics from the WHO indicate that medication related harm represents 50% of all preventable harm in medical care. Falls are common and expensive too, with the UK recording 240k hospital falls in England and Wales, with those that led to a hip fracture racking up a huge 1.8m bed days and associated costs of £1.1B (£850m).

“We chose Lincor because their solution offered us the most comprehensive answer to our needs.”
